USL Membership

New Officials must be members of US Lacrosse (USL).  USL membership provides benefits and coverage to officials who complete training requirements, field evaluation, and join a Local Board.

New Officials must attend four Board meetings annually (in addition to trainings). Go to Meetings page for schedule.

- February - Preseason Business Meeting

- March - Rule Interpretation Meeting

- April - Midseason Business Meeting

- June - Postseason Meeting and Banquet

Game Fees and Mileage Reimbursement

Regular season game fees:

- Modified: $58.00

- Junior Varsity: $67.50

- Varsity: $96.00

Tournaments & League fees

- $40.00 / 50-minute game


- Local Board dues: $40.00 (annually - waived first year)

  1. -US Lacrosse Membership dues: $50.00 (annually)

- Assigning fee: 5 % of game fee for each game assigned (annually)

  1. -Official Uniform, Accessories, & Apparel: $100.00

  2. -NYS Fingerprinting Clearance: $125.00 (one-time / reimbursed 50%)

Rules Exam

New Officials must pass USL’s online exam. Due March 15th.

Performance Rating

New Officials must pass a field evaluation their first year.  Officials renew their rating annually until their third year officiating.


Officials are assigned by the Board Assignor through ArbiterSports.  Officials must have daily internet and email access to enter their availability, receive game assignments, and  communicate with Assignor and partner officials. Games are March to May 4:00pm-9:00pm Monday through Friday and 9:00am-9:00pm on Saturdays.

Physical fitness

Girl’s lacrosse is a fast paced game played on a 100 yard by 40 yard playing field.  Officials must have good physical fitness in order to maintain proper positioning and safely administer the game from beginning to end.
